These paintings will be presented at and available from Cerulean Gallery, Phila (ceruleanarts.com) Sept 18-Oct 13, 2019. Based on an extended stay in Rome, Italy last year, they project the essence of place, which arises from interacting forms and color combinations typical of the Roman and Italian urban landscape.
A series based on travel to mountainous areas. Some of the paintings refer to real places, others spring from composite memories of shapes or vistas; some are more representational, others more abstract. All are a record of what is for me of the essence in these landscapes, whether they are in Iceland, the Canadian Rockies, the American Southwest or Chilean Patagonia. Works on paper are framed, floating on mat and are under glass. Most of the canvases have a rustic floating frame available.
